Fantastic day for racing – sunny and no wind. Everyone turning up on time and quite a number of spectators to cheer on the riders. Bunch sprints in all grades meant the fields were evenly matched. Good to see a big bunch of juniors also present. The juniors did a lap of the course as a training ride.
A Grade
4 laps – 68km. Early break by Gary K. Caught again in 2nd lap. All remaining riders competing in bunch sprint with Gary winning easily by 10 metres. Very close for 2nd (Seb Scott) and 3rd (Peter Collins).
B Grade
Early break by Ashley Seawrigh, Andrew Gordon and Raf Vainikka. Back together for a bunch sprint with all competing except Rod Lingard. Very close between 1st (Raf Vainikka) and 2nd (Lou Gordon). Third went to Bob Free.
C Grade
First 4 in bunch sprint with 1st (Kent Wright) and 2nd (Ian Cory) clear of 3rd (Damien Doran) and 4th. Jesse Munchow had bad luck with dropping a chain twice and had to solo most of the way.
